The hours spent in Halo 3 custom games might have developed a passion for video games, but it started playing Atari and Donkey Kong Country. I would lose track of time when playing those games. I get pulled into a world and escape from everything else that is happening. Now I want to give that experience of losing track of time to others.

My brother would spend hours on the computer writing code in high school and college which inspired me to try coding in my junior year of high school. I went from taking one class in my junior year to taking all of the available coding courses in my senior year. The one that stood out to me was a class where I would create my own game using Python and Pygame. A simple game with no camera movement. The player is a garbage man who moves across a busy city street collecting garbage bags while avoiding getting hit by cars. I really enjoyed making that game, but I would not focus on making games until my second year of college.

I would go on to transfer to Full Sail University and learn the game development process. I enjoyed the process of going from idea to creation, but what I loved the most was seeing the reactions from the playtesters. I love seeing the struggles and smiles of the player when figuring out how mechanics work. All of the struggles creating mechanics and developing levels are worth it when you get those enjoyable reactions from the people that play a game you made.

If I am not creating, playing or watching others play video games then you can probably find me watching ice hockey, doing karate or editing video for my local church.
